Biography
Maria Trigo Teixeira (Lisbon, 1990) is an animation filmmaker currently based between Porto and Berlin.
She graduated in Animated Film in the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf (Germany) and in Communication Design in the Faculty of Fine Arts in Porto (Portugal).
Her graduation film “Inside me” was awarded at international film festivals and won the Lola for Best Animated Film by the German Film Academy in 2019, reaching the Oscar longlist in 2021.
Between 2016‐2021 she programmed and organised the monthly sessions of the
Shortcutz Berlin festival. She has been invited to sit on the jury of festivals such as Festival of Animation Berlin, Film Festival Cottbus, among others.
Her new short animated film "Amanhã não dão chuva" (It shouldn't rain tomorrow) will premiere in 2024.
